Reggie Bush won't fill Deuce's shoes
Pierre Thomas will be the man Reggie wants to be
April 5, 2009 - FORT WORTH, TX - At a NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday, Reggie Bush said, "(The New Orleans Saints) are looking for me to be the guy back there. By the moves that (The New Orleans Saints) are making, it definitely speaks volumes to me as to what I need to prepare myself for." With Deuce McAllister's release, Reggie Bush thinks he is the man; however, Reggie Bush isn't going to be the man, the main guy, the guy back there, or whatever else he wants to call it. Last year, Pierre Thomas led the Saints last year with 625 yards and nine (9) touchdowns. Reggie Bush had 404 yards and two (2) scores. Just like this past year, Pierre will rush for more yards than Reggie Bush next year too! Hell, even Ricky Williams got more rushing yards than Reggie Bush did last year! Reggie Bush will be the man returning punts on 4th down and he will be the saint's "3rd down back". Beyond that, the saints would be foolish to let him be the go-to running back. Pierre Thomas is the work-horse. Think about it, when Reggie Bush plays, the Saints are 20 wins & 20 losses. When Reggie Bush doesn't play in the game due to his injuries, the Saints are 6 wins & 4 losses! Deuce McAllister is gone, but Reggie Bush won't be filling Deuce Mcallister's shoes.
What's Reggie Bush's Win-Loss Record?

Reggie Bush wins East-West rushing title
Reggie Bush rushes for 2000 yards of East-West rushing
September 26, 2007 - Reggie Bush - think about running North-South instead of East-West. The is no rushing title for 50 yard runs from sideline-to-sideline for a net gain (loss) of minus 2 yards. Think about it - REGGIE!!!
Reggie Bush visits New Orleans
May 15, 2007 -
"Did ya'll miss me?", Reggie Bush asked as he entered the Saints media room all smiles and greeted the media. Reggie was relaxed and confident. Bush said, "I just wanted to show my face, talk to some of the coaches and players and go over some of the offensive stuff that we're going to be getting ready for next week for OTAs (Off-season Training Activities)."
Reggie has spent his off-season in California. Bush said'"Me being from California, I live in Los Angeles, so I do like to be out there and working out there at the same time. But, at the same time, I like coming back and working out with my teammates. So, it's kind of a touchy subject because you want to please both parties."
"Obviously, you'd like to be here with your teammates working out and just kind of being with these guys," said Bush. "At the same time, you know your off season is kind of your time to kind of relax and be normal and just be a person and just kind of let your hair down and not have to just be a football player 24-7. I think sometimes that's good to take a break."
Bush is confident he is going to be ready for the new season. "I've really been working out really hard and just preparing myself for what I think is going to be a great season this year, you know trying to do my part and making sure that I'm ready and well prepared, in shape and all the necessary things to get us back to where we were last year and hopefully beyond that."
Reggie Bush has changed his workout regime this off-season, working with personal trainer Kappel Clarke in Los Angeles since mid-February. Clarke is the creator of a form of training called Fre Flo Do, an athletic-skill based martial arts influenced system that encompasses a comprehensive functional approach to addressing every mental and physical athletic attribute simultaneously. Bush said, "It's flexibility, endurance, strength training, a lot of plyometrics. It's not for everybody. It's not the traditional type of workouts. It's not the bench press, the squatting, but you get the same type of workout as you would with the regular bench press and squats. We're working on endurance and maybe trying to simulate a play. For example, a lot of my plays, some of them last longer than the average play."
Will his new training regimen will prepare him for training camp in Jackson, Mississippi? "I don't think anything can simulate that. Unless you're training in a sauna. That's the closest thing I can compare it to."
Reggie reacted to the Saints draft of running back Antonio Pittman, "I was a little shocked, but Coach Payton is the head coach, and he's going to do what he feels best and is necessary for this team, so I'm behind him one hundred percent (100%)."
Reggie's off-season motivation, "I'm really excited. We're all very confident in this season and this team and this coaching staff, so we're really excited to get back and hopefully back to the NFC Championship game again. It's a lot of motivation. It'd definitely a lot of motivation for me personally, because I don't like to lose, for one. But to be that close (to the Super Bowl) and to not make it, there's a lot more motivation for us to get back to that point and prove that the Saints are not just a Cinderella team."
Bush's off-season is busy with lots of travel. Aside from working out at his home in L.A., he went to the White House Correspondent's Dinner. On his trip to the White House correspondent's dinner, "I had a great time, a great experience. I sat with (Secretary of State ) Condoleezza Rice and got a chance to meet and talk with her and pick her brain for a little bit. It was a good experience."
Reggie Bush starred with music artist Ciara in a recent video, "It was fun. I think that was just an opportunity for me to step outside of the sports world and maybe into the entertainment side a little bit. I was grateful for the opportunity. It was a great experience, but it's just something that's not for me."
Reggie traveled to Madrid for an Adidas commercial with soccer star David Beckham, "It was really us introducing each other to our sports - his football, my football. That's really what it was. We kind of had fun with it. It was really laid back, relaxed."
Reggie Bush also lived the Playboy Mansion dream, "I was at the mansion, I had a great time, and actually took more pictures than some of the girls there, that's really all it was."
