June 14, 2010 - New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas has signs with the New Orleans Saints. Running back Pierre Thomas had until midnight, June 14, to sign his tendered offer at $1.684 million dollars or the New Orleans Saints offer would have been reduced to 110% less of his 2009 salary under the NFL's current collective bargaining agreement.

Last season, New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas gained 1,389 all purpose yards as the Saints went on to win the 2009 NFL Superbowl championship.

New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas or "PT Cruiser" became a fan favorite after making the team as a long shot in the summer of 2007. Thomas was an undrafted free agent from Illinois who beat out Ohio State RB Antonio Pittman, the New Orleans Saints fourth round pick in 2007.

In his first three seasons in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints, running back Pierre Thomas has rushed for 1,670-yards with 16 TD's with 87 receptions for 737-yards and six (6) touchdowns.

April 30, 2007 - Free-agent running back, Pierre Thomas signs with the New Orleans Saints. Pierre Thomas played 40 games and ranks sixth in University of Illinois history with 2,545 rushing yards. Thomas averaged 5.6 yards per carry over his career with the Fighting Illini and ran for 20 touchdowns. Pierre also caught 57 passes for 411 yards and three touchdowns. Pierre led the fighting Illini in rushing in each of the final three seasons, and had eight 100-yard games. He had a school-record 1,495 career kickoff return yards, averaging 24.1 yards as a kick returner for his career including a 99-yard return for a touchdown. He is second in school history with 4,451 all-purpose yards.
