Jay Bellamy agrees to 1-year deal

April 2, 2007 - Safety Jay Bellamy signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, keeping him in New Orleans for his 14th NFL season. Bellamy (5-11, 200) joined the Saints as a free agent in 2001 (formerly with the Seattle Seahawks). Jay started the final five games, including the playoffs and was the Saints' postseason leading tackler with 15. Jay Bellamy, 33, has played 176 games in his career, accumulating 644 tackles and 24 interceptions.
