Jason David signs a four-year contract

April 19, 2007 - Restricted free agent Jason David (CB) signed an offer sheet with New Orleans Saints. The Indianapolis Colts have one week to match the offer or David will goe to the Saints on a four-year contract, and the Colts will be compensated with one of New Orleans' three fourth-round draft picks in the 2007 NFL draft next week. The Saints are in the process of upgrading their cornerback position, which was a definite weak point of last year's team. David (5-8, 180) turns 25 on June 12, was a fourth-round pick of the Colts in 2004 from Washington State.

David, a three-year starter for the Colts, has eight (8) career interceptions, 33 defensed passes, 143 tackles, a forced fumble and three (3) fumble recoveries. If David becomes a member of the New Orleans Saints, he will probably be one of the Saint's starting cornerbacks and play opposite veteran Mike McKenzie.
