Deuce McAllister and the New Orleans Saints

October 02, 2011 - Jacksonville, FL - New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister (Ole Miss) with Rita Benson LeBlanc at Saints-Jaguars pregame

Deuce McAllister blows-out knee ;-(

September 24, 2007 - Deuce McAllister blew out his other knee in the New Orleans Saint's loss to the Titans 14-31. I don't think Deuce will play much for the New Orleans Saints again. I believe Deuce McAllister's running-back career is over.

Deuce McAllister is ready for training camp at Millsaps College!

June 21, 2007 - Repeating last year's camp location, Deuce McAllister and the Saints players are going to Saints training camp at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.

Saints running back Deuce McAllister is a native of nearby Ludlow, Mississippi. McAllister said, "I'm happy, Millsaps did everything they could to accommodate us and make it quote-unquote 'NFL standard.' We can't do anything about the weather. The camp brings us closer together and makes us better as a team. I'm going to have to get myself another scooter this year. The campus is definitely cozy, but anything you can do to save energy and time, you got to do during camp. Time is of the essence at camp. And after a few days, your body needs all the help it can get."

June 3, 2007 - This time last year, Deuce McAllister was rehabbing from knee surgery. Deuce McAllister tore an anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in October of 2005. By the end of the season, Deuce McAllister was at his best. Deuce finished the regular season with 1,057 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns. In the NFC divisional round playoff game, Deuce ran for 143 yards and scored two touchdowns to beat the Philadelphia Eagles. Showing off his power in the fourth quarter, Deuce McAllister wore down the Eagles defense and ran out the clock.

Deuce McAllister said, "I think as a team we were playing our best. We were playing together. We were familiar with each other. And that's something that we can grow on. But it just gives us a starting point. We know the potential."

Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush co-exist in the Saints offense! The Saints lead the NFL in yards per game.

Deuce McAllister said, "I think our confidence grew. Obviously the more games he played, the more comfortable he got. The more games I played coming off the surgery, the more comfortable I got."

Reggie Bush said, "I definitely think the coaches did a great job of allowing me and Deuce to be a 1-2 punch and forcing defenses to respect us."

Coach Payton said, "I think a lot of times it depends on who you are playing. Each week we pay attention to scheme and design, how many touches, the predictability within the scheme and making sure there is enough balance. I see them both as running backs still. That hasn't changed. And it starts with that position in regards to where they line up. I think there will be enough snaps for both of them to have a great deal of input to what we do on offense."

Deuce McAllister knows there is enough room in the Saints' offense for both he and Bush to gain 1,500 yards from the line of scrimmage.

Deuce McAllister said, "I think there's room for improvement, regardless of the rankings and regardless of who you have coming back. If we go out and execute our offense, the opposing defense can't be right. If we go out and do our jobs, they can't be right."

Obviously, Deuce is back and ready to go!
